米子城跡発掘調査現地説明会 ― 2016/03/19
史跡米子城跡発掘調査現地説明会に参加しました。
今年度の発掘調査で新たな石垣が２ヶ所で発見されました。今回説明をされた３ケ所。
吉川広家が朝鮮の役より帰国後、造ったと思われる登り石垣の説明する発掘担当者。地元のケーブルテレビが取材しています。
八幡台盛土で出土した割石や瓦の説明。ここは幕末に小天守を修理した際、作業場として使われた平地ですが、戦国期のものと思われる石垣も出土。土の色が変わっているのがトレンチの跡。
本丸西側の水手郭下に見つかった石垣。石垣上部は破壊された痕跡があり、江戸時代に破城された石垣ではないかと、説明されました。普段はシートに覆われていますが、説明会のために外されていました。
